A Meta employee recently revealed that she had little to do during her six-month stint at the company despite earning a $190,000 annual salary.
Madelyn Machado, a former recruiter at Meta, went viral on TikTok after she described how the staff had nothing to do, especially in the recruiting space. She told her viewers in the video titled “Being Paid $190K to Do Nothing at Meta” that the tech giant’s attitude to work “blew my mind” and that she “didn’t do sh**” during her six-month tenure at the firm.
Machado noted that despite being a recruiter or an HR employee, she was instructed by her employers she wasn’t expected to perform that during her early months at Meta. “During the first six months and even the first year, we weren’t supposed to recruit anyone. This is something they tell you when you start,” she said in the video.
Yet, Machado’s hopes to “ride this out for a year” did not work out as she worked for the tech giant from September 2021 to February 2022 according to her LinkedIn page.
