Concerned about the effect of digital media on politicians, the Union Law Minister

Kiren Rijiju, the Union Law Minister, emphasised that all three institutions of government should function together and that disagreements are a necessary component of democracy.

On April 7, Union Law Minister Kiren Rijiju highlighted his worry about how certain people who do not want to see India advance are misusing electronic, social, and digital media to deceive legislators. He pointed out that occasionally politicians fall victim to such aspects in society’s ignorant conversations and debates.

He said that there have been attempts in recent months to fabricate a false narrative of tensions between the executive branch and the court. Rijiju underlined that disagreements over ideas are a necessary component of democracy and should not be confused for conflict.

According to Rijiju, some forces are worried about India’s quick rise to prominence and development as a strong country. It is essential that all three parts of the government function harmoniously since India has the fifth-largest economy in the world.

Many dignitaries, including President Draupadi Murmu, Chief Justice of India Chandrachud, Chief Minister of Assam Himanta Biswa Sarma, and Governor of Assam Gulab Chand Kataria, attended the Gauhati High Court’s platinum jubilee festivities, where Rijiju delivered these remarks.
