The Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA) and Hindustan Zinc Limited (HZL), a Vedanta company, inked a contract on Thursday for the construction of the third-largest cricket stadium in the world at Chonp village, Jaipur.

One of the greatest corporate investments in India’s sporting infrastructure will be made by HZL, who would invest Rs 300 crore in the stadium.

An announcement stated that the stadium’s name will be Anil Agarwal International Cricket Stadium, Jaipur.

In the presence of the assembly speaker and RCA’s top supporter C P Joshi, among others, the agreement was signed by Bhawani Shankar Samota, the RCA secretary, and Arun Misra, the CEO of Hindustan Zinc.

Joshi claimed that the investment will help Jaipur realise its long-held goal of building a new international cricket stadium.

He commended the business for its backing and approval of the stadium’s initial phase of development.

Vaibhav Gehlot, president of RCA, emphasised the organization’s history and accomplishments while thanking the state government for providing 100 acres of land for the stadium at a discounted rate.
