The deadline of March 31, 2023 has been set for the obligatory linkage of PAN and Aadhaar. This is how to check the status of your PAN-Aadhaar.
The Central Board of Direct Taxes has mandated the connection of PAN and Aadhaar (CBDT). The deadline for taxpayers to connect their permanent account number (PAN) with Aadhaar is set at March 31, 2023. You won’t be able to submit income tax returns, use a variety of financial services, or conduct NSE or BSE transactions if you don’t do this, making your PAN inoperative.
The deadline for connecting without penalty was June 30, 2022, thus taxpayers who have not yet connected their Aadhaar with their PAN can do so by paying a late cost of Rs 1,000. People have one week to link their PAN with their Aadhaar before the deadline of March 31.

There are two ways to determine if your PAN and Aadhaar have been connected, whether you have already done so or not.
After your PAN and Aadhaar are connected, how can you verify the status?
The Income Tax e-filing portal is the first place to check.
Step 1: Go on this link to access the Income Tax e-Filing Portal: https://www.incometax.gov.in/iec/foportal/
Second step: Locate the “Quick Links” section on the left side of the page. Next, choose “Link Aadhaar Status.”
3rd step: Input your 12-digit Aadhaar number as well as your 10-digit PAN number. Then, choose “See Link Aadhaar Status.”
Your Aadhaar number will be shown if it has already been connected. If Aadhaar is not connected, you must take the required actions to connect the two.
SMS is the second method for determining your PAN-Aadhaar status. You must send an SMS to either 567678 or 56161 to enquire about the PAN-Aadhaar connecting status.
