The government intends to issue bonds to generate Rs 8.88 trillion in the first half of 2023–24.

According to the finance ministry, the government has no plans to issue Green Bonds between April and September.

In 2023-24, the government will borrow a record Rs 15.43 lakh crore.
In the first half of 2023-24, the Government would borrow Rs 8.88 lakh crore through the issuing of government securities.

The full-year gross borrowing projection for the Government in the Budget for 2023-24 was a record Rs 15.43 lakh crore.

The federal government’s projected first-half borrowing of Rs 8.88 lakh crore equates to 57.6 percent of the full-year forecast.
